About Me

I am a Registered and Senior Accredited member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) with a Diploma in Counselling from Relate Training and more than twenty years experience working with individuals and Couples.

I offer counselling to adults both individuals and couples as well as group therapy, training and clinical supervision.

I work with people with issues surrounding food and have done some work with BEAT (eating disorders association) and train other therapists in this area.

I am an LGBTQ+ affirmative Therapist and support the Armed Services Community (please see costs page).

I trained with ADVA (Against Domestic Violence and Abuse) in Devon and work frequently with survivors of domestic abuse, together with past work with Devon Rape Crisis www.devonrapecrisis.org.uk with the Exeter Sexual Assault Referral Centre (NHS).

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Trained with Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre) is also available. For ten years I Lectured on the Counselling Diploma at Exeter College whilst working as a therapist privately and voluntarily at a GP surgery, local Health Centre and Charites and so have experience of working with a wide range of people and a variety of issues.

I have also worked with young people at a local Secondary School, although currently only see people aged 18 and over. My Private Practice is based in Exmouth, Devon  and I work from there as well as online or walking by the sea (Please see the Walk and Talk page for details).

I am employed by a number of Employee Assistance Programmes and so it may be possible to contact me through your workplace who may then pay for a limited number of sessions. I have a background in the corporate workplace.

I use a variety of approaches tailored to each individual (or couple) to help you improve your ability to cope with your difficulties and also teach skills and practical ways of dealing with situations. One example of this would be how to prevent panic attacks occurring.

Sessions can be weekly, two weekly (or a frequency to suit you) as well as single 'one off' sessions (Please see Single Session page for details).

I am a Registered and  Senior Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and am bound by its Ethical Framework for Good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and subject to the professional conduct procedure therein, and my details can be found on their website at www.bacp.co.uk

The BACP Register can be checked on BACP Register where you will find confirmation of my registration.
